ERASMUS+ MOBILITY IN EUROPE FOR VOCATIONAL TRAINING

ERASMUS+ MOBILITY IN EUROPE FOR VOCATIONAL TRAINING

The project aims to add a European dimension to learning within the vocational training system and production sector in the area of Como by increasing mobility for various target groups in the hotel and catering industry and the wellness sector.

Objectives

The project aims are in line with the priorities identified for the 2020 European Strategy, which aim to reduce school dropout rates through innovation, diversification and enrichment of the range of courses available and are reflected in the European Commission's priorities for ERASMUSPLUS:

  • increase employment opportunities for young people in the local and European labour market by strengthening key skills (active citizenship education in Europe, motivation to learn a language, development of responsibility and independence);
  • increase the awareness of different cultural and professional contexts and promote the transition and integration between training and production systems and contexts;
  • facilitate the innovation of training processes by developing the skills of operators;
  • promote a European network of training institutes for implementation of ECVET.
  • Enable deserving students to benefit from a work experience placement with European companies thanks to collaboration with qualified partner schools involved in the project.

PROJECT BENEFICIARIES

STUDENTS

The two-year project involves the participation of 120 students of between 16 and 18 years old studying vocational training courses (100 from CFP, 10 from ENAIP and 10 from CIAS) who are in the third or fourth year of catering or wellness courses managed by AFOL Como or sending partners Enaip and Cias.  The project involves a month of work experience.

VT GRADUATES

This project involves the mobility of 16 graduates from the hotel and catering sector for a period of six months, to be completed after a period of preparation. This route offers an innovative training programme for post-diploma vocational students aimed at developing the professional, language and cross-functional skills of participants.

The selection criteria adopted take into account assessments completed during the study period. Candidates are asked to present a document describing their professional project and must also undergo a selection interview in English or the language of the country for which they are applying.

TRAINERS

The 18 trainers selected will take part in a 4-day period of job shadowing aimed at examining subjects of a methodological nature identified as strategic by the sending organisations.

Participants must possess sufficient knowledge of the language spoken in the country of destination or of English, which is the common language. Priority will be given to those who have not yet experienced a period of mobility.
